Artist's Comments

My first compission. I've never done any pieces with full background before because I was afraid that I would mess it up. Well, I finally got over my fear and I want more. I also taught myself how to paint with Copic markers for the skin and hair. I now can't get enough of these markers.

This is also my first Mythia novel book cover. I'll be making more in the future to find just the right one to use for my novel. It took me a few days to make this. I'm so happy of how it turned out. Sorry for the crappy photo I had to take with my digital camera. My scanner was too small to fit this 11x14 illustration paper.

I did study the photos of you Happy Roses before coloring the rose. I had been inspired by my own imagination before I ever heard of your roses. I started writing and drawing Mythia in 1995 and during that time I didn't have the internet so I never saw them. I'm glad your photos helped me color my Crystal Rainbow Rose of Mythia perfectly. ^___^

You can't because it hasn't been published yet. I sent it off to Baen Books four months ago and won't hear anything from them by next year, if at all. Sorry.

That is in deed a very pretty rose : ) the lady's ears are pretty funky, looks like something out of Water World or something : )
